Our ranking approach
The default order puts Hong Kong companies first, then rewards complete, useful profiles. It is not for sale and does not rest on popularity or unverified quality claims.
Default order

Hong Kong first. A company counts as Hong Kong if it reports Hong Kong as its country (including spellings such as Hong Kong SAR, HK or 香港), or if it reports no country but lists a Hong Kong district or a branch in one. A reported country other than Hong Kong always wins, so a company reporting India is not placed as Hong Kong even if it lists a district. An unknown country is never guessed from a website address, phone prefix or currency.

Profile completeness, highest first (scored below).

Name alphabetically, then the stable directory ID, so ties are always ordered the same way.
Filters apply before ordering, and only published companies appear. Search lists name matches first, then Hong Kong companies, then name, with no hidden popularity boost.
Your sort choice always wins
If you pick a sort yourself, that order is used exactly as chosen with no Hong Kong boost: Featured (editor picks, then publication date, then name), Name A–Z, or Recently updated.
Profile completeness: 0–100
Each of the ten groups below that a company has filled in adds 10 points. Longer text and larger product counts earn nothing extra, and the score does not certify that self-reported information is true.

A high score is not proof of product quality, solvency, certification, ownership, customer satisfaction or sales. Missing information stays unknown. Catalogue counts and prices come from source snapshots and never affect the score.
Sponsored placements
Sponsored companies are retrieved separately from organic results, labelled "Sponsored", and still have to match your filters. Paying does not improve a company's organic position, verification status or editorial selection, and a sponsored company will not appear in a material or service search it does not match. We promise no search ranking, leads or sales for any placement. See the advertising disclosure.
What we don't do
We don't publish a generic "best vendor" score without a defensible method, and we don't silently relax a budget or location requirement because a search returned few results.
Improve your own position
The way to rank higher is to complete your profile. Submit your company or claim an existing listing. All submissions are moderated, and public contact details are kept separate from private reviewer contacts.
